'William and The National Autistic Society will thank you for it'
The Marble Arch to Holyhead Cycling Challenge
One Rider. One Day. One Historic Challenge.
My name is Justin Wall, owner and professional cycle mechanic at Anglesey Cycleworks, and on 18th September 2026 I’ll be taking on an incredible solo and unsupported cycling challenge — riding the long-forgotten historic route of the London to Holyhead cycle race.
Starting at Marble Arch, London, and finishing at Holyhead Arch, Anglesey, I’ll attempt to complete this legendary endurance ride in just one day to raise vital funds and awareness for the National Autistic Society.
This isn’t just a ride — it’s a personal mission to support individuals and families living with autism.

The Marble Arch to Holyhead cycle race, often referred to as the London-Holyhead, was a premier British endurance event held nine times between 1951 and 1978. Covering approximately 265–278 miles along the A5, this, often unpaced, single-day race ran from London to Anglesey, with notables like Bert Hitchen and Billy Holmes among its winners.
